Who we are
How we got here
Following long careers in investment management consulting, enterprise technology, international treasury, and nonprofit management, the co-founders came to the conclusion that there was no single resource available to board members and trustees to help them assess, correct and monitor their fiduciary governance process. Accountants provide primarily technical financial skills, lawyers are experts in the law, and financial service companies are good at holding and managing assets.
With our background in both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations, we realized that all organizations share similar issues of stewardship. Employers are stewards of their employees’ retirement funds and trustees/board members of foundations/endowments are stewards of gifts held in trust for the benefit of others.
Robert Patterson, AIFA®, President and Co-founder of Diogenes. His focus is on making sure that Board members and senior executive understand the threat of a cyber breach and implement appropriate policies and procedures as part of an overall Enterprise Risk Management strategy. Bob was recently awarded a certificate in “Cyber Security: Technology, Application and Policy” from the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory at MIT.
US subsidiaries of multinationals headquartered outside of the US face special problems. With increased scrutiny on companies by the Department of Labor and other government agencies, understanding the pitfalls associated with a lack of fiduciary prudence makes it even more difficult for someone not familiar with the US employment rules and regulations. To supplement the experience and skills of our co-founders, and to service the needs of the parent companies, we put together a team of enterprise level experts in the area of fiduciary knowledge, corporate management, education, and technology, all with international experience and Diogenes- FG was born.
Diogenes-FG Code of Ethics

This Code of Ethics was developed by fi360 and is required to be followed by all AIF® and AIFA® designees as well as, by extension, CEFEX Analysts.
